From children's seats and strollers to medical equipment and sports equipment, we've got you covered. Our team understands the importance of taking care of your belongings, especially those that are oversized or bulky baggage. Special Baggage Items

Unless specified below, each item must not exceed the maximum linear dimensions of 158cm, or Special baggage charges will apply.

The permitted items are described as follows:

Passengers departing from King Fahad International Airport (DMM) and Prince Nayef Bin Abdulaziz International Airport (ELQ):

A maximum of 5 kgs (total) of Zamzam Water can be checked-in. It will be carried free of charge in addition to your existing baggage allowance. All water must be wrapped or packaged securely.



Passengers departing from King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED) and Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz International Airport (MED):

A maximum of 5 litres (total) of Zamzam Water can be checked-in. It will be carried free of charge in addition to your existing baggage allowance. All water must be purchased from Zam Zam Water Company at the abovementioned airports, wrapped and packaged securely. All water not purchased from Zam Zam Water Company will not be accepted. Zam Zam Water is permitted as checked baggage only and is not allowed in cabin baggage.


Passengers departing from King Khalid International Airport (RUH)

Zamzam water cannot be carried as carry on or checked-in luggage

One non-motorised bicycle must be placed in a specially designed protective bag, case, or cardboard box. Pedals must be removed, handlebars must be fixed in line with the frame, and tyres must be deflated to avoid potential damage. The bicycle box and contents within, not exceeding 15 kg, will be carried free of charge in addition to your existing baggage allowance. Please note that Gulf Air does not supply bicycle boxes.

One golf bag containing one set of clubs, balls, one pair of golf shoes, and one umbrella, which must be packed in a specially designed golf travel bag.

The golf bag with all components, not exceeding 15 kg, will be carried free of charge in addition to your existing baggage allowance.

Scuba diving equipment may contain up to one empty cylinder tank and harness, one regulator, one tank pressure gauge, one mask, one snorkel, a pair of fins, one Buoyancy Control Device (BCD), and one diving lamp (disconnected or the battery removed).

Please note that the cylinder tank must be empty, with the regulators removed and valves placed in an open position. Equipment not exceeding 15 kg will be carried free of charge in addition to your existing baggage allowance

Gulf Air shall accept these items as long as each piece does not exceed 32 kg and is within the dimensions set for extraordinary baggage 190 cm (75") x 75 cm (20.5") x 65 cm (25.5"). Items larger than the specified dimensions will not be accepted as checked baggage and will be carried as cargo in these circumstances. Please visit [Gulf Air Cargo] for further details

Paragliding: one canopy/wing, one harness and one helmet packed securely into a rucksack 

 

Parachuting: one parachute securely packed.

These items are permitted as checked baggage only and are not allowed in cabin baggage.

One board and one sail in a bag are permitted as checked-in baggage. Excess baggage charges may apply if the item is oversized

A purpose-designed bowling ball bag containing a maximum of 4 bowling balls is permitted as checked-in baggage. Excess baggage charges may apply if the item is oversized.

Sticks, balls, and pads carried in a purpose-made kit bag are permitted as checked-in baggage. Excess baggage charges may apply if the item is oversized

One racket kit bag containing rackets and balls is permitted as checked-in baggage. Excess baggage charges may apply if the item is oversized

One equipment bag containing one bow, one quiver, and arrows is permitted as checked-in baggage. Excess baggage charges may apply if the item is oversized

Two rods, one reel, one pair of fishing boots, one tackle, and one landing net in a purpose-made bag is permitted as checked-in baggage. Excess baggage charges may apply if the item is oversized

Instruments must be packed in a purpose-designed travel bag and adequately protected. The travel bag is permitted as checked-in baggage. Excess baggage charges may apply if the item is oversized

A TV of maximum 50 inches is permitted. Larger sizes must be carried as [cargo]. TVs are additional baggage to your allocated checked baggage, and charges will apply.

Snowboards: one snowboard plus boots in a purpose-designed board bag.

 


Snow skis: one pair of skis and poles in a purpose-designed ski bag in addition to one pair of ski boots in a boot bag.

 

A special bag is permitted as checked-in baggage. Excess baggage charges may apply if the item is oversized.

Gulf Air will make every effort to accommodate your sporting equipment and musical instruments. However, on very rare occasions, due to operating restrictions, we may not be able to carry them.

Traveling with Medical Equipment

Gulf Air Reservations must be informed at least 48 hours prior to the flight. Gulf Air medical clearance is required for the carriage of CPAP/POC devices for any medical condition. All supporting documents must be submitted 48 hours prior to the flight in order to obtain medical clearance.
